Descriptions and Duties

  • Scenic Designer – Attend all design and production meetings;; Provide theatre with Rough Scenic Designs 100 days prior to open; Provide theatre with Refined Designs 90 prior to opening; Final Designs Due 80 days prior to opening; Work with Technical Supervisor to schedule build times and set deadlines to ensure scenic construction is complete 15 days prior to open; Make design revisions as necessary to compliment budget;
  • Sound Designer/Audio Engineer – Work with Stage Management to create and execute all requested SFX; Final SFX due 7 days before open; Attendance at production meetings, designer runs, Band load in/Rehearsal, Sitzprobe, Dress Rehearsals, and Performances; Orchestra plot 15 days prior open; Daily Mic Check; EOD duties; Strike duties at the end of run;
  • Light Designer – Attend all design and production meetings; Provide theatre with Rough Lighting Design 65 days before open; Lighting Design Approval 60 days before open; Gel and GOBO orders due 30 days before open; Light plot due 20 days before open; Hang/Focus 9 days before open; Attendance at all Technical Rehearsals; 
  • Light Tech/Operator – Attendance at designer run, hang & focus, all tech/dress rehearsals, performances; Preshow duties; Postshow duties; Strike duties following the closing performance; Execution of Light and any projection cues;
  • Costume Designer – Work with Stage Management to schedule costume fittings outside of scheduled rehearsal time; Lead all fittings and dress parade; Provide theatre with renderings of proposed designs by first week of rehearsal; Provide theatre with wardrobe plot/breakdown and specific laundry duties required during run before tech; Launder/prepare pieces for return/storage by the Wednesday following closing;
  • Wardrobe Supervisor/Lead  – Laundry duties during run of show; Alterations and repairs; Dressing Room prep; Dressing room strike; Supervises quick changes and 
  • Stage Manager – Attendance at all rehearsals and performances; Preparing and closing the space before and after all rehearsal/performances; Generation and distribution of rehearsal and performance reports EOD; Daily calls sent to Talent 12 hours before call; 
  • Assistant Stage Manager -Attendance at all rehearsals and performances; Preparation and closing of the space before and all calls; Assistance in the generation and distribution of rehearsal and performance reports; props tracking; Record all blocking; lead all intimacy/fight calls;
  • Carpenter – Cut, shape, carve different-sized items and assemble pieces; Assist stage management in performing various tasks during live productions; Assist in moving set pieces such as scenery, furniture, props; Assist with handling ropes, wires, or other rigging;
